Unwinding at Peninsula Hot Springs

wherejacwanders.com – On a recent trip to Melbourne we spent some time down on the Mornington Peninsula and had a delightful day at the Peninsula Hot Springs, the award-winning natural hot springs and day spa destination, just 10 minutes from Blairgowrie where we stayed or 90 minutes from Melbourne. With its fresh coastal air and unique location, the springs are an ultimate wellness destination. Natural thermal mineral waters flow into the pools and private baths at the coastal oasis, providing an idyllic setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.

We arrived early and headed up to the Hilltop Pool with its 360 degree views of the rolling hills. It was a perfect way to begin unwinding and start our day. From there we made our way down through the various pools of The Bath House. At times, we were in pools with others and at other times we found ourselves alone enjoying the peace and tranquility. Although it was holiday season, the spa caps numbers so we never felt crowded. My favourites were the wooden pools, lying in the hammocks and swinging pods amongst the tea trees and I really loved the reflexology walk.

We then  headed to the Clay Ridge – read more about that awesome experience here!

We spent the rest off the day at the Spa Dreaming Centre. We ate in the cafe and chilled in one of the rooms enjoying the delightful tulsi tea between soaks in different temperature pools. The cold plunge pool quickly brought us out of our relaxed slumber.

After the clay experience and a day of soaking,  I felt totally relaxed, calm and my skin felt soft. I spent time as a teenager living in Japan and during that time, visited a number of springs and it was easy to see how the spring’s owner was influenced by his own Japan experience. I hadn’t imagined we’d spend the whole day at the springs but we were so relaxed time passed us by and next visit I’m sure we’ll make another whole day of it again.
