www.wherejacwanders.com – For me sakura had always conjured up an image of Japan. Kimono clad women and men strolling down Kyoto streets under the pink petals, families picnicking under the blossoms, walkways like alluring tunnels of dusty pink. I had no idea that Stockholm also had beautiful cherry blossoms. Memories of my high school time in Tokyo flooded back as we walked around the corner and saw the blooms in Kungsträdgården.
There’s something special about standing under cherry blossom blooms with strangers. It unites you.
For a break from the hustle and bustle of the city centre you´ll find that Kungsträdgården in spring is a perfect spot to see thousands of pink cherry blossoms which light up the park. You can also get an an ice cream and people-watch; apparently when winter comes, the ice-skating rink is a very popular spot for both visitors and locals alike. Don’t miss the newly refurbished Hötorgshallen food hall and the colorful market on the adjacent square.
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
“The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your whole life looking for one, and it would not be a wasted life”
– The Last Samurai
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

“Keep looking up. That’s the secret to life…”
