wherejacwanders.com – After room service for dinner and then breakfast in bed, we were ready to get out and explore Hotel Bandara International further. We spent a couple of hours walking around the paths, checking out the hotel’s lush grounds including a kitchen garden full of local herbs and vegetables. I loved the old banyan tree with its long roots and couldn’t resist swinging off it Jane style. We then spent the rest of the day lazing by the pool. After an afternoon cocktail we were hungry again so headed for an early dinner at Linjani Restaurant.
It’s a relaxing and laid back restaurant facing the poolside and lake view, with an extensive buffet selection of international and Indonesia Archipelago cuisine as well as an á la carte menu. We choose the buffet for dinner as it’s the best way to satisfy both of us with choices from around the world. I got my sushi and cheese and Travel Junkie got his spicy food and rice.
After dinner we headed to the poolside Sambal Tapas Outdoor Bar & Lounge. We loved the night lights of the hotel and pool. Sambal Tapas serves Spanish and Indonesian small plates but we were too full to eat any more after dinner. We did, however, indulge in a cool cocktail or two while listening to music. The bar tender made me the perfect negroni.
We also had breakfast at Linjani and enjoyed watching the early morning swimmers and swaying palms. With that view we almost forgot we were staying in an airport hotel, conveniently located right at Sukarno Hatta International Airport.
